Full Privacy Policy

This page is designed around Darna's actual product flows, including sign-in, saved searches, account messages, listing publishing, credit purchases, and AI-assisted search.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Darna.qa collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal data when people search listings, use the map, create accounts, save searches, send inquiries, exchange account messages, post listings, or subscribe to commercial services.

This policy is written for Darna's current product shape as a Qatar property intelligence portal serving property seekers, agents, agencies, developers, owners, and other commercial users.

2. Who We Are

Darna is the operator of Darna.qa. For the purposes of this policy, Darna generally acts as the controller of the personal data we collect and determine how to use for operating, securing, improving, and supporting the platform.

In some situations, service providers may process personal data on our behalf, and agents, developers, or advertisers may separately act as controllers for the data they collect through their own dealings with users.

This Privacy Policy does not mean Darna is the broker in a property transaction; the advertiser you contact remains separately responsible for its own business, legal, and regulatory obligations.

3. Personal Data We May Collect

Depending on how you use the platform, we may collect account and identity details such as name, email address, phone number, company or agency information, login credentials, profile information, language preference, and account settings. If you choose Google sign-in, we may receive the identity information made available through that sign-in flow.

We may also collect listing-related data, including property details, listing text, images, floor plans, map coordinates, contact details published with a listing, inquiry details, account-message content, saved-search preferences, Ask Darna search inputs, subscription or credit-purchase information, customer-support communications, device and browser data, IP address, and basic cookie-related or usage-log data.

4. How We Use Personal Data

We use personal data to provide and administer accounts, publish and manage listings, process inquiries and account messages, deliver subscriptions or credits, run Ask Darna and saved-search features, respond to support requests, detect fraud or abuse, secure the platform, and improve our services.

We may also use personal data to communicate important service information, enforce our terms, comply with law, manage disputes, investigate complaints, maintain records, and, where permitted, send marketing or product communications.

5. Our Processing Basis

Depending on the context, Darna may process personal data because it is necessary to provide the service you requested, to perform a contract with you or your organization, to comply with legal obligations, to support legitimate operational and security interests, or because you have given consent.

Where consent is required, including for some direct marketing uses, we will rely on that consent and you may withdraw it subject to applicable law and technical limitations already in place at the time of withdrawal.

6. Direct Marketing

Where Darna sends electronic direct marketing communications, we aim to do so in line with applicable Qatar privacy requirements, including obtaining consent where required and providing a clear way to opt out.

Operational, transactional, security, billing, and service-update messages are not treated the same way as promotional communications and may still be sent where necessary for the platform or your account.

7. Listings, Leads, and Professional Users

If you are an agent, agency, developer, owner, or advertiser, the personal data you upload or receive through the platform must be handled lawfully and only for the purpose for which it was made available. You are responsible for your own compliance obligations when using inquiry, contact, or messaging data obtained through Darna.

You are also responsible for ensuring that your advertising activity on Darna is authorized and compliant with applicable Qatar law, licensing rules, permissions, and regulatory requirements.

Darna may monitor, route, log, and analyze inquiry flows, listing interactions, message activity, and lead activity for quality control, platform support, fraud prevention, service optimization, and agency reporting.

8. Children and Special Nature Data

Darna is not designed for children. We do not knowingly seek to collect children's personal data except where strictly necessary and appropriately authorized. If children's data needs to be processed, parental or legal guardian authorization may be required.

Please do not upload or submit personal data of a special or sensitive nature unless it is strictly necessary, lawfully permitted, and appropriately protected. If certain sensitive data processing requires additional permission or controls under Qatar law, Darna may refuse, restrict, or delete that submission until the required basis is established.

9. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences such as language, understand platform performance, improve navigation, support security controls, and measure feature usage.

Browser settings may allow you to block or remove cookies, but some parts of the platform may not function properly if essential cookies are disabled.

10. Sharing Personal Data

We may share personal data with service providers that support the operation of Darna, such as hosting, email delivery, sign-in, maps, payments, analytics, and fraud-prevention vendors, subject to appropriate safeguards and need-to-know access.

We may also share data with advertisers or inquiry recipients you choose to contact, with authorities where required by law, or where reasonably necessary to investigate misuse, respond to claims, or protect Darna and its users.

11. International Transfers

Some service providers or technical systems used by Darna, such as hosting, analytics, sign-in, or communications infrastructure, may process personal data outside Qatar. Where this happens, Darna aims to use reasonable safeguards and controls appropriate to the nature of the data and the transfer.

If a transfer requires additional permissions, assessments, contractual protections, or other measures under applicable Qatar law, Darna may apply those measures or limit the transfer until an appropriate basis is in place.

12. Security

Darna uses administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, misuse, or loss. These measures may include access controls, environment protections, vendor controls, monitoring, logging, and workflow restrictions.

No platform can guarantee absolute security, but we aim to apply safeguards proportionate to the sensitivity and importance of the personal data we handle.

13. Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including account administration, platform operations, security, customer support, legal compliance, dispute handling, fraud prevention, and record-keeping.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data, whether the account is active, whether a listing or subscription is live, and whether we need to keep records for legal, contractual, or operational reasons.

14. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law and the circumstances of processing, individuals may have rights that include withdrawing consent, objecting to certain processing, requesting erasure, requesting correction, being notified of inaccurate disclosure, and accessing or obtaining a copy of personal data.

To make a privacy request, please use our contact route on Darna.qa and include enough information for us to verify and respond to the request. We may ask for additional information where reasonably necessary.

15. Personal Data Breaches and Complaints

If Darna becomes aware of a personal data breach, we may investigate, contain, remediate, document, and notify affected parties or authorities where required by applicable law and risk level.

If you believe your personal data has been misused through the platform, you may contact Darna first. You may also have the right to raise a concern with the relevant Qatar data privacy authority.

16. Third-Party Sites and Services

Darna may link to or rely on third-party services such as Google sign-in, map providers, payment processors, email tools, or external property or social links. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.

You should review third-party privacy notices before sharing information with those services directly.

17. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version becomes effective when posted on Darna.qa or on the effective date shown at the top of the page. Continued use of the platform after that date indicates acceptance of the revised policy to the extent permitted by law.
